1. Introduction

This is a game program for the Newton. In this game, you have a Bug
(i.e., insect) to take care of. It goes running around looking for
foods. Object of the game is to let the Bug eat all the foods.

The Bug runs straight. When it hits a wall or obstacle, it makes
a 90 degree turn. You guide the Bug to foods by putting obstacles
in right places. The Bug gets hungry very quickly, however. When it
becomes too hungry to run, the game is over. So watch out its energy
  level.

If you like this game, please try our "Little Peking", "RepTile",
  "Litton", "YinYang" and "PeggySu".
They also are freeware Newton games.

2. Distribution of This Program

This program is freeware. You are free to give it away to your friends and
family members. Be sure to pass this readme file along with the program.

If you upload this program to a BBS or FTP site, please notify us by
  sending email afterwards.

3. Requirements

This program was tested on the MP-120 with Newton OS 1.3. It should
work on other models with the same OS. It should work on the OS 2.0 as
well, although we have not tested yet.

The program takes up about 30KB of memory and consumes about 3KB of heap.

4. How to Play

  A. Start A New Game

When you start the game for the first time, a game board appears after
a little pause. On the board you will see:

o The Bug -- it looks like an insect.
       o Obstacles -- grey squares
o Foods -- three little circles.

Each time you press the [New Game] button on screen, you get a new board
    configuration.

  B. Moving the Obstacles

When the Bug is not running, you can move around the obstacles (grey
squares) by dragging them. There are 14 obstacles. Use them wisely.

The Bug makes a 90 degree turn (right, left, back up and right etc.)
when it hits a wall or obstacle. In order to guide the Bug to food,
plan carefully so that you can place the obstacles in right locations.

  C. Starting the Bug

Before you start the Bug, you can change its initial direction@by tapping
the Bug.@Each time you tap the Bug, it turns by 90 degrees clockwise.

Hit the [Go!] button to start the Bug. Promptly, the button changes its
label to [Stop]. That's what you tap to stop the Bug.

Watch the energy indicator as the Bug runs. When the energy level gets
to zero, the Bug stops and the button label chages to [Restart].

  D. Restart the Bug

Unless the Bug eats up all the food, you can restart the game by tapping
the [Restart] button, which is formaly [Stop] and [Go!].

The foods reappears and the Bug returns to the initial position -- center
of the screen. Tap the [Go!] button to move the Bug again.

  E. Setting Preferences

Tap the Bug button, next to [New Game], to open the preference dialogbox.
You have choose the behavior of the Bug and the number of foods on screen.

  F. Score Records

Top ten scores are kept. To view the records, tap [Hi Score] after pressing
    the [i] button.

  G. Undo Moves

Sorry, no undo's. Such is life.
